	'Enter the ghost in his night-gowne': the corpus or corpse of Shakespeare now
	講師：	Professor Kathleen McLuskie （Director, The Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham）

This lecture explores the role of Shakespeare in present day English culture. Shakespeare is the best known writer in England and the English speaking world and he appears both as an icon of high culture, as the source of, often iconoclastic, representation in the markets of contemporary tourism, and as the core repertory of theatre companies everywhere. In 2006-7, the reputation of Shakespeare has been re-energised by the Royal Shakespeare Company Complete Works festival that has been taking place in Stratford-upon-Avon between 2006-7. That festival celebrates a modern Shakespeare who is available for adaptation and reinterpretation, who is part of global culture and who is the source and the locus of theatrical energy that defines the high culture of our time. The relationship between that particular twenty-first century version of Shakespeare and the writer whose Complete Works were published in Folio in 1623 is a complex one. Understanding it requires us to re-interrogate Ben Jonson's assertion that the Complete Works was 'for all time' and to see the connection between the Folio text and Shakespeare's position in the commercial theatre of his day. セミナー　13:00～16:00 セミナー1（8号館841教室）
